Inks

Screen-printed products use ultraviolet inks for extended outdoor and indoor use. Metallic, fluorescent and color matched inks are available. Fluorescent inks are not fade resistant nor recommended for use with styrene based products. Note: screen printing inks not listed at this time.

Digital printed products will create all colors out of 4-color process: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. Colors may reside outside the range of the 4-color process and the closest attainable color will be used.

Flexographic Label inks (see below) are for indoor usage only. The inks may change dramatically when printed on colored stocks or when trapping over other colors.
Colors other than our standard selection will require a color match charge of $42.00 per color. please specify a color to be matched using a recognized industry color specification system (i.e. Pantone Matching System - PMS). Due to variations of ink formulations, subtle color changes can occur beyond our control. Therefore, perfect color matches cannot be guaranteed.

Ink printed on any background other than white will appear darker. For contrast, we recommend that fluorescent inks be used against black or one of our dark standard colors. Industry standards indicate that fluorescent inks will fade rapidly when exposed to direct sunlight. Fluorescent inks are recommended for indoor or short-term outdoor usage only.

Tinting: white label paper stock may be tinted any color. Tinting is charged as a second ink color. If the tint is a special color match, there is an additional $42.00 charge.

Color Match: Any color can be matched for $42.00.

Flexo Label ink note: The ink system used in flexography is not the same as screen printing and the colors will not match our screen-printed colors exactly. Most Flexo printing is on a white matte or gloss paper. Please keep in mind that printing these inks on a white matte paper or any colored stock will alter the color and matching is impossible. Fluorescent and Metallic colors will appear much lighter and less vibrant than when printed using the screen-printing process.

Regarding Colors and Your Computer Monitor: Colors will appear differently from one computer monitor to another. For a better representation of our colors, you can request samples.  Call or email.

Due to the limitations of web color actual colors may vary slightly. These colors should only be used as a reference.

Note:
Not all colors are considered standard on all materials. If an exact color has to be matched, there will be a $42.00 charge.

PMS matches for standard colors are approximate and may vary. We cannot guarantee a perfect match to the listed PMS color.

Using White Backup

Clear materials often require white to maintain color integrity. Three options are typically used depending on the art and text elements.
Flooding the background white.
Done with face imprint only. If flooding a back adhesive/static item, it may be more appropriate to order a white vinyl or white static.
Backing up elements or text.
If the text or elements are thick enough, the white can be printed behind the text or elements only. While adding opacity, white would be unseen from the front of the decal.
White viewed from front.
White viewed from back.
Halo applied to elements with white.
Elements with a halo are backed for opacity and have white extending slightly creating a "halo" effect. It is best used when dealing with thin elements, or when dark backgrounds and increased contrast is needed.

Die Cutting

Label Network  has many stock die shapes available. Charges reflect the cost of dies that do not require intricate detail, sharp points or excessive bending.

Example: Star bursts or tight cuts around text. Additional charges will be required for these circumstances. (See graphic below.)

Flexographic special tooling dies require additional time and special quotes. Call or email for pricing.

Digital labels that require special shapes will NOT incur extra tooling die costs.

Die Cutting costs for Screen Printing:
No die charge for decals with square corners unless either dimension is less than one inch. No die charge for circles with a diameter every 1/2". No die charge on repeat orders. All others add:

56 or less square inches......................... $136.00
57 to 143 sq. inches................................. $148.00
144 to 252 sq. inches............................... $168.00
253 to 600 sq. inches............................... $176.00

Maximum die-cut size is 40" x 28".
Call or email for quote if your size exceeds either dimension.

Color Matching: Colors other than our standard choices will require a Color Match charge of $42.00 per color. Please specify a Pantone Matching System (PMS) number for reference. Due to variations in ink formulations, subtle color changes can occur beyond our control. Therefore, perfect color matches cannot be guaranteed.

Base Material: The above inks are printed on a white base material. Printing colors on any other colored base material (including white matte paper when printing flexographically) will alter the color slightly and make matching impossible.
